Tips For How to Compensate Stitches on a Needlepoint Project
Compensating stitches on a needlepoint project can be a challenge, especially when you are a beginner. Today we share a couple of our favorite tips for stitching around letters and shapes on needlepoint canvases.
Full details ⬇️
💡 Use some scrap thread to create markers on the edge of your project. Each line represents the height for each row of the stitch. We are doing Alicia’s Lace as the background on this project.
💡Use a post-it note! Use the Post-It to act as the object you are stitching around on the canvas. This allows you to visually see how the stitches will need to be compensated.
💡 Note how the line on the side will also guide where the bottom of the stitch will land as you use the post-it note.
Give these a try and see if they make the process a little easier 💚 Happy stitching 🪡
