A Note from Our Owner

Welcome to The Wool and the Floss! I am so glad you have found us. I am Melissa MacLeod, a lifelong stitcher…. I learned how to stitch at the age of seven, in the back room of the original location of The Wool & The Floss, under the tutelage of Marnie Fessendon Ritter…. Many years later, I went to work for our prior owner, Jean Candler, as an instructor.

In 2017, I was fortunate enough to purchase the business from Jean. Since then our business has grown exponentially…. Through our Unboxing Parties (yes a pandemic can have a few silver linings), Tuesday WIPs with Liz & Kelli and the Pointing It Out Podcast, many stitchers have found us and we have become a Creative Escape for what we hope is All Stitchers!
