Bead & Ribbon Lab with Audra: A Two-Day Immersive Needlepoint Adventure

Audra Daughtry of Audra Stitches is coming to The Wool & The Floss on Tuesday, December 1 and Wednesday, December 2 for a very special two day event:  Bead & Ribbon Lab.  Unlike a traditional project class, these Lab classes focus on teaching techniques with beads and ribbon rather than completing a specific canvas. Students leave with new technical skills to incorporate into all their future projects, a stitched reference sampler,  and two  professionally produced Lab Notebooks that serve as a lasting reference.

What to expect:

• 10AM - 4PM both days
• Limited to 18 students
• Includes canvas, stretcher bars, threads, beads, ribbons and accessories needed so you are ready to start as soon as class begins.
• Best of all, you will leave with two complete Lab Notebooks (exclusively available to class attendees.)  This notebook is a professionally produced instructional notebook containing technique instruction, charts, reference materials, and space for stitched samples. Students will continue to use this notebook as a reference long after class.

Class Details:

Day One (Tuesday, December 1) will be "The Beading Lab" with a bonus Turkey Work Session. The Beading Lab is a deep dive into the colorful world of decorative techniques for needlepoint using beads. From foundational beading methods to creative applications that add texture, sparkle, and dimension, this class is designed to make embellishing approachable, inspiring and wildly fun. Whether bead-curious or already bead-obsessed, Beading Lab will completely change the way one looks at finishing a canvas while also building a Beading Lab Notebook that can be used as a reference long after
class.

Day Two (Wednesday, December 2) will be "The Ribbon Lab."  The Ribbon Lab is a creative exploration of ribbon in needlepoint — from lush silk ribbons and dimensional florals to texture-rich techniques that bring canvases to life. This class focuses on learning how ribbon behaves, how to control it, and how to use it in ways that feel artistic rather than intimidating. Students will experiment with various ribbon types, stitches, shaping, and layering techniques while building their Ribbon Lab Notebook, a lasting reference filled with techniques and inspiration. Ribbon Lab is for those stitchers looking to expand their skills with ribbon.

The biggest thing students leave with is their Lab Notebooks. Rather than just learning techniques in class and hoping they’ll remember them later, every technique that is covered has its own reference page with step-by-step instructions, tips and notes. Beside each technique is a designated space where students stitch their own sample during class.

By the end of the workshop, students have a personalized reference notebook for each Lab filled with actual stitched examples they created themselves. It becomes a permanent resource they can pull out months or even years later when they want to use a technique on a future project.
