We are thrilled to announce that we have been chosen as one of three host shops for the incredibly popular virtual series, The Stitch Lab, with Audra Daughtry.  Melissa participated in this series in 2026 and couldn't wait to bring it to all of you at The Wool & The Floss.  

If you have been stitching for a little while (or even a long while) and would like more confidence when it comes to choosing your own threads and stitch combinations, this class is for you!

✨ You will build your own Stitch Lab notebook, a growing library of threads, stitches, and discoveries that will become a go-to resource.

Class description:

The Stitch Lab is a monthly journey into the world of thread — its textures, personalities, and possibilities. Each month spotlights a featured thread and color story, experimenting with how that thread behaves, shines, twists, and transforms a canvas.

The goal is simple: to help stitchers truly understand their materials — to experiment, compare, and develop a personal feel for how thread choices shape every project. The stitches are the supporting act — tools to showcase what the thread can do.

Every month, participants will build their own Stitch Lab notebook, a growing library of threads, stitches, and discoveries that will become a go-to resource.

The Focus: Thread First

The Stitch Lab isn’t a stitch-a-month project. It’s a thread education series designed to build skill and confidence through hands-on exploration.

Each month, participants will
✨ Learn about one thread in depth — how it covers, lays, blends, and behaves
✨ Experiment with stitches that show off the thread’s unique properties
✨ Populate a working binder of reference samples to revisit again
✨ Gain confidence in thread selection, pairing, and creativity

What's included:

✨ Set Up Kit – Custom StitchLab mini binder, program overview, setup guide, 12x10 stretcher bars, tacks, a needle threader and a few extra surprises.
✨ Monthly Kits – 12x10 pre-drawn canvas squares, Stitch Sheets for four stitches, Thread Glossary Sheets, and the featured thread(s) for the month — plus a few surprise goodies!
✨ Tools Provided – 12x10 stretcher bars, tacks, and a needle threader.
✨ Monthly Zoom Class – A live 3-hour class with featured teacher Audra Daughtry, exploring thread behavior, technique tips, and creative applications.

PRICING:

✨ $150 Class Deposit - Due today to save your spot.  This deposit goes toward your Set Up Kit described above.
✨ $150 per month - January - December.  Your card on file will be charged the first of every month.  If we do not already have your card on file, we will be in touch after you reserve your spot.
✨ Shipping of each monthly kit is $7.95 and can be combined with other orders.  Local customers can choose to pick up in store.
